Celebration of Santiago Apostle with pilgrims on the Way

Last Wednesday 25 July we celebrate the feast of St. James along with pilgrims from the Association of Pilgrim Community Valenciana.
Shortly before seven o'clock in the evening there was a brief reception by the rector and members of the "Foundation C.V.. Set of San Juan del Hospital Valencia "pilgrims of Way Association. Then D. Augusto Cruañes celebrated a solemn Mass sung by the choir. After the Mass, had LUGar offering Bourdon and the scallop to the Virgen del Milagro and the offering to the apostle, the president and other members of the Association of Friends of the Camino delivered to the rector, D. Carlos Cremades a staff (cane as a symbol that accompanies our steps along the road to Santiago) and a scallop (symbol of the pilgrims on the road, as an essential container drink the water of life) that blessed.
After a few words of the president and other Rector, This gave the "Pilgrim's blessing" for those who will soon embark on the road to the capital compostelana.
Then they went south and there Patio D. Carlos and Jorge Garcia Valldecabres explained the corbels with scallops Chapel King D. Jaime, and how the Hospitaller Order welcomed pilgrims in Jerusalem for centuries, and how was later built shelters / hospitals in the ways of Spain.
Later it went to the showroom of findings of the museum to see an exhibition of items and objects related to the Camino de Santiago, where they could see objects pilgrims s. XIV, articles hemeroteca, maps and photographic and visual report that the Association had prepared, more credentials and other memorabilia of interest. Finally credentials were sealed.
The temporary exhibition on the road to Santiago and the "Pilgrim's blessing" are some of the initiatives that San Juan del Hospital collaborates with the project launched by the European Commission European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, A draft dissemination and support of European cultural heritage.
