The Choir ACANTHUS emerged in Valencia in April of 2007 gathering voices of “The participatory Messiah“, the formation of the Association and its choral activity took place in whose trials. Since then it has grown the number of concerts and meetings in which he has participated, mainly in Valencia. In its repertoire there are sacred and profane works of all times, both of classical authors such as contemporary, highlighting works as the Gloria Vivaldi, the Cantata 140 Bach, the Requiem Faure and many Renaissance pieces, among others.
Since the end of 2012, the choir works under the direction of Josep Manel Campos i fields, giving it a big push, improving the quality of their voices, balancing the different strings, and contributing enthusiasm and work between the components. As a result, the ACANTHUS Choir has become a Valencian chorus with great projection. Master fields i fields is currently Professor of piano and pianisra companion at the Conservatorio Municipal de Música José Iturbi in Valencia, and he combines this activity with the direction of the Acanthus choir and the choir Lambert Alonso of Godella.
It should be noted the last concerts performed both the Palau de la Música - on behalf of the NGO project live-, as the one done for the II Congreso Iberoamericano de groundwater - organized by UPV in the Church of Ntra. SRA. Of Monteolivete-.
The Acanthus choir participates in campaigns of "Retrobem la nostra music" which sponsors the Diputación de Valencia and carried out exchanges and encounters with different choirs of the Valencian Community.
